About

Why we built AdultDayGenie

Electronic visit verification made home-care visits provable. Nobody did that for the building — even though adult day care centers still get audited on their attendance records. AdultDayGenie exists to close that gap.

The gap

Congregate care sits outside EVV — and always has

Congregate, center-based services are explicitly out of scope for federal Electronic Visit Verification under the 21st Century Cures Act, and no state has been confirmed to extend EVV to adult day care. Home-based care got a mandated, electronic proof-of-visit standard. Center-based adult day care did not — even as Medicaid auditors keep reviewing attendance records and disallowing claims that cannot be backed up.

We built AdultDayGenie because we think adult day care centers deserve the same kind of provable record home care already has, without waiting for a state to make it mandatory first.

How we build

What we hold ourselves to

  • Evidence, not assurances

We say documents, preserves, and demonstrates — never guarantees. AdultDayGenie does not promise an outcome with an auditor. It gives you the record to make your case.

  • Append-only by default

Every attendance event is timestamped and appended, never edited after the fact. A correction is a new entry, not a change to history.

  • Consent-first

Facial recognition is opt-in, and a guardian or authorized representative can sign consent for a member who cannot sign for themselves. A non-biometric path always exists.

  • Coexistence, not replacement

We do not ask a center to rip out its billing system or EHR. AdultDayGenie runs alongside what you already use, as one more proof point.

Where we're starting

Built for centers billing Medicaid waiver

Our primary buyer is the owner or administrator of a one- to five-site adult day care center billing a Medicaid waiver program — evaluating a lot at once, and rarely with time to spare during business hours. We are starting with centers in New York and building out from there, running alongside whatever billing system or EHR you already use.
